Working Principle of Energy Recovery Exchanger
An Energy Recovery Exchanger (ERV) ensures fresh air supply while significantly reducing cooling and heating energy consumption. By transferring heat between incoming and outgoing airflows, the system recovers energy that would otherwise be wasted.
Summer Operation:
When hot outdoor air (33°C) enters, it passes through the exchanger and transfers its heat to the cooler exhaust air (32°C). As a result, the fresh air is cooled down to 27°C before entering the room, while indoor exhaust air rises from 26°C to 32°C before being discharged. This reduces the cooling load on the air conditioning system.
Winter Operation:
When cold outdoor air (0°C) enters, it absorbs heat from the warmer exhaust air (3°C). The incoming fresh air is warmed up to 18°C before entering the room, while the exhaust air cools down from 20°C to 3°C before being discharged. This reduces heating demand and keeps the indoor environment comfortable.
